DescriptionThe semi-nude Saint Jerome is seated at right on a rock. He holds a scroll in his left hand and dips a quill pen with his right. Around him are books and a skull at upper right. At lower left is the head of a lion. Behind St. Jerome is a rocky escarpement in deep shadow, and to the left is a view with trees and hills under a cloudy sky.
